Solution 2 : It works, nice and smooth, and seeing it now make me feel a little dumb □ I should had come to try that !īuuuuut, I find another bug that I'm going to be to lazy to reproduce right now : in my project when I have srolled to the bottom of the page and I do a resize, it messes up the above animation, reseting them without replaying while scrolling up. Solution 3 : At first it seems good, but now I have an annoying issue with a little glitchy jump on small mousewheel events, here's a screencast,Īlso, the large wiggle of my exemple is gone, but there's still a subtle position vibration on the text. So I assume the problem don't come from Lenis not returning the good scroll value, since it works fine with older versions of gsap. Hi 1 : don't work, the latest beta have the same issue, runing my code with versions before 3.11 works fine (I tested with the 3.10.4 and it's perfect). While Locomotive is hijacking your browser scroll and you need to use Scroller Proxy! Lenis is using the default values for telling browser how far you have scrolled. I didn't find any ressources with a Lenis smooth scroll setup with scrollerProxy (wich is mandatory to keep perfect animations sync).Ĭan someone see what i'm missing or doing wrong ?įor using Lenis, you don't need to use Scrollerproxy. (the pin position is shifting by something that looks like the scrolled distance). The problem is hapenning on all animations in my project, on pinned scrolltriger stuff to, I've already setup scrollerProxy on others custom smooth scrolls, and never had this issue. If you scroll back to the top and resize the window, the animation will get back to it's normal position. It look like it's shifting proportionally to the distance scrolled. If you scroll a little bit and resize the window, the blue. I have setup a simple animation, triggered by the first. I've made a codesandbox reproducing my issue : here. My problem is when I resize the window when it has been scrolled, the scrolltriggered animations are shifted. I'm trying to use Scrolltrigger with Lenis smooth scroll inside a Next js project. Now Max knows the truth but McComb is changing the past and Max does not know how stop him. Atwood prefers to die and does not confess that McComb is a criminal. Atwood tells that he is working for Senator McComb, who is a powerful politician that is running for president. In 2004, Walker is assigned to capture his former partner Lyle Atwood (Jason Schombing) that is manipulating the stock market in 1929. The police office Max Walker (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is invited to join the TEC, and when his wife Melissa (Mia Sara) is murdered by strangers, he accepts the invitation to work under the command of Eugene Matuzak (Bruce McGill). When time travel was developed by a scientist in 1994, there was the need to create the Time Enforcement Commision (TEC) under the control of Senator Aaron McComb (Ron Silver) to protect the past from modifications. I also liked the opening scene and the scene in which he goes back to 1929 to arrest his partner. In my opinion, this was one of his best performances. The paradox in leap faith of this movie is also that works so well and fits with the story. If you don't, this movie has zero credibility, and is not worth your time. That is the more or less basic plot, In order to even try watching this movie, you MUST LOOK PAST THE PARADOX. "oh its a guilty pleasure at best" that's stupid! This film deserves a special edition in some way. I think this film is beginning, to get a bad wrap from the general audience. I enjoy the story, the concept and the action. The action sequences where amazing, the fight scenes and Van Damme martial arts where very realistic. I never really liked Cyborg, but I absolutely love this movie. The first time was in cyborg (1989) and the second time was in Universal Soldier. Honestly this is the third time Van Damme played in a science fiction movie. A lot of my friends that I know in real life, loves this movie. Not only this movie is my favorite best Van Damme movie, it is one of those movies that you watch over and over again and never gets tiring. And yes, this movie, like many other Van Damme classics deserves a special edition. That mullet Is the best he ever had, not the one in Hard Target. Also I think that this movie has Van Damme's best hairstyle. The movie it self has a good look, action and effects and very good acting performance by Van Damme, you really feel bad for him and want to see him kick bad guys asses. I also think Van Damme definitely deserves some credit for his non-action scenes in this film, but I suppose his performance in this film will always be remembered for that splits scene. The film is a lot smarter than people give it credit for. I have grew up with this movie and it was a hit in 1994 when it was released out. I have it on Blu-ray in my Van Damme collection. I actually rented on a VHS tape in the 90's my parents paid me for the VHS tape so I could watch this movie. Half-n-half sci-fi/action films get lost beneath pure action and pure sci-fi but Timecop is top shelf. Mia Sara was absolutely wonderful as Max's (Van Damme's) wife Melissa. Ron Silver did an excellent joy playing a villain in this movie as Senator McComb. You have a lot of explosions and it also involves conspiracy. In here you have nice realistic martial arts and action. I watched the sequel without Van Damme in it and the sequel sucked. Timecop (1994) is very underrated film, there was a sequel and a short-lived ABC series. It does involve travel into the past, so it immediately presents a time-travel paradox which can't really be resolved. What I meant in the top written: "to take a few sci-fi leaps of faith" This movie involves time travel about a cop who travels from 2004 to 1994 and try's to prevent the death of his wife and change the future. I love this movie to death and it is my 6th favorite best Van Damme movie. His son years later directed two Universal Soldier film sequels. He was the only one of the directors who come visit Van Damme in hospital after he got injured. It was directed from Peter Hyams who become a good friend with Van Damme and a year later he directed Sudden Death with Van Damme. One of my favorite action movie flicks till this days. Great travel time, great action, great villains and great story. One of my favorite and serious Van Damme's roles in this film. Timecop (1994) is my favorite Van Damme action sci-fi classic! Just Like Sylvester Stallone's Judge Dredd, Van Damme's Timecop is very Underrated action sci-fi flick ever. Overall, I’d enthusiastically recommend The Fox in the Forest. They’ve also included reference cards and tracking chits for points, a nice touch. Renegade’s artwork is often a miss for me, but I really like what they’ve done with The Fox in the Forest. The cards are well produced, and the artwork is stunning. It cuts roughly one or two hands off gameplay, which shortens 5-10 minutes, but it didn’t seem to sacrifice any depth. I have tried the shorter game, and I’ll probably stick with it in the future. The box says 30 minutes, and I’d say that’s about right for the standard game. Throw in the text on the cards - which can greatly change up gameplay, without making the game feel chaotic - and you have a game that is one of the better trick taking games of recent years. From the first card in a trick to the last, The Fox in the Forest always feels interesting to me. I can’t do that in The Fox and Forest: both players need to be nimble enough to either (a) force their opponent to 10 or more tricks, or (b) get themself as close as possible to 7-9 tricks. I can often look at my hand in Hearts and know what card to play when: it’s obvious, and I don’t have much of a choice, and leads to boredom. If you’re not familiar with that concept, take another trick taking game most people have played: Hearts. The score system is clever because it - along with the text abilities on the cards - keeps the game from entering “auto play” mode. But, interestingly, if you take that number of tricks, your opponent will always fall out of that optimal range. Basically, you want to take either 0-3 tricks, or 7-9 tricks, as those give you the maximum possible score of 6 points. My favorite part is the scoring system, which is an exceptionally clever part of the design. Much to my surprise, I actually felt like I was playing a much bigger card game, even if there were only two cards in each trick. Joshua Buergel’s creation genuinely takes the trick taking genre and distill it down to a game for two players. The Fox in the Forest is is an especially well-designed and well-developed trick taking game. I won’t repeat all of the abilities here, but these samples provide a flavor: the text generally alters what your opponents can play, who wins the trick, or who leads the next trick.Īfter all 13 tricks are played, each player earns points for how many tricks they won.Īs discussed above, you normally play until one player has 21 points, at which time the player with the higher score wins. The 7 card provides 1 point for each 7 in the trick (possibly earning you 1 or 2 bonus points). The 3 card allows you to exchange the Degree Card with a card from your hand. For example, the 1 card provides that if you play this and lose the trick, you lead the next trick. These abilities activate when the card is played. This proceeds until all 13 tricks have been won.Īs alluded to above, the odd rank in each suit (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11) have special abilities printed in text on the card. The winner of the trick leads the next trick. The higher card of suit led - or trump, if there is one - will then generally win the trick, subject to the text on the cards. One player leads, and the other player must then follow suit. This card, known as the “Decree Card,” marks the trump. Each player gets a hand of 13 cards, the remaining 7 are set aside to form a draw pile, and the top card of that draw pile is flipped over. The game comes with 33 cards, 1-11 in each of three suits. Alternatively, players can aim for a shorter game (16 points) or a longer one (35 points). Players score points each hands - generally between 0 and 6 points, plus maybe a bonus from the 7 Card - and in the standard game play continues until one player has earned 21 points. The Fox in the Forest is a trick taking card game played over multiple hands, with there being 13 tricks each hand. Not so here: The Fox in the Forest is meant only for two-players, and that is certainly noteworthy in its genre. We’ve seen a few games attempt to include 2-player rules, but generally the game is actually meant for three to five players, and the 2-player rules are more of an afterthought. Two-player trick taking games are genuinely few and far between. I was eager to get my hands on The Fox in the Forest, and a friend was kind enough to get me a copy for my birthday. The game, designed by Joshua Buergel, was released this summer, getting a bit of pre-Gen Con buzz.Īs regular readers know, I’m a trick-taking enthusiast, to put it mildly. Isolation ensures all active code from the internet is executed in isolated cloud containers, removing any risk that malicious payloads will reach the endpoint. As a result, organizations must transition from a post-breach detection mindset to a zero trust approach – ideally one powered by web isolation – to stop threats in their tracks before they ever reach the endpoint. We believe that prevention is key versus a detect and mitigation strategy. Organizations simply cannot assume that their web servers are safe. The Log4j vulnerability and the likelihood that malicious actors are currently lurking on the enterprise network has eroded users’ trust. So, what is the solution in combatting the threat of Log4j, particularly in combination with HEAT? How Isolation Can Achieve Zero Trust in the Truest Sense This is what makes Log4J so dangerous – the fact that attackers can use it to gain easy access to a corporate network and then combine it with HEAT to hide, gather information and strike at any time. Already latent in many web servers because of the Log4J vulnerability, payloads can be delivered to the endpoint using data obfuscation, HTML smuggling, and Javascript obfuscation to bypass traditional security controls like Secure Web Gateways (SWGs), sandboxes and firewalls. Threat actors are increasingly adopting HEAT to evade detection from traditional security tools and successfully launch ransomware and phishing attacks. Looking at SolarWinds as a case in point, it was discovered that the attackers involved had gained access to the company network as much as nine months before it was first realized.Īt the same time, Highly Evasive Adaptive Threats (HEAT) are exacerbating the situation. We therefore anticipate a rise in breaches over the coming months that use Lo4j as an attack vector – and history tells us that this could include some high-profile companies. In cases where no remediation has been taken, threat actors will be laying low, probing the network, and waiting for an opportunity to spread to more high-value targets. For context, over 1.5 million WordPress sites alone were impacted. While many companies have audited and remediated any exposure, there will still be many instances that have not yet been identified and resolved, given the wide scope of impact. Given the evidence, it’s highly likely that malicious actors have already compromised enterprise servers by tapping into the Log4J vulnerability. Threat Actors Will Wait for the Prime Opportunity It received the rating that it did because of a unique combination of being both easy to exploit and demonstrating the potential of being extremely damaging for organizations. This extremely high volume of attempts is largely why NIST points to Log4j being so challenging from a security perspective. Such a discovery suggests that the vulnerability was actually known and exploited well before it was made public. What’s equally concerning is that a proof of concept of an attack using the Log4J vulnerability was detected eight days earlier. In the three days prior to a patch being released, the total figure of exploit attempts then rose to 830,000. However, being publicized so widely as a highly concerning weak point also attracted unwanted attention.Īttackers quickly worked to take advantage of the vulnerability, the first exploit attempt occurring just nine minutes after publication. Given the organization’s reputation, it was hard to ignore the 10/10 rating of a new weak point in the Log4j Java logging library on December 8, 2021.īetter known as the Log4Shell exploit, or Log4j vulnerability, it quickly captured industry-wide headlines worldwide, deemed by some to be one of the most threatening security issues of all time. An open framework for communicating the characteristics and severity of software vulnerabilities, it is used to rank the seriousness of threats on a scale of 1 to 10. Part of NIST’s work includes the provision of the Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS). A physical sciences laboratory and non-regulatory agency of the United States Department of Commerce, it plays a leading role in promoting cyber resilience globally. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is a renowned body in the cybersecurity space. The prints are kept in their printed sequence between boards for drying. Multiple images can be printed from one plate forming an edition. The image is transferred from the plate onto the paper. Dampened paper is placed on top of the plate and passed under considerable pressure through a printing press. Once the plate has been completed the depressed areas are filled with ink and the non-printing parts wiped clean. The plate is then submerged in an acid solution until the desired depth or width in the bitten area is reached. Once cooled the design can be drawn or scraped into the ground exposing the plate underneath. The ground is hardened by smoking with a candle and left to cool. The plate is covered with an acid resist coating (ground). The vehicle for cutting the line into the metal is an acid solution. Where the ground is removed by the tool a line is formed. woodcut) that rely on the raised areas bearing the image.ġ Engraving - sharp tools are used (engraving, drypoint, mezzotint)Įngraving is where the artist draws directly onto the plate without using ground or acid.Ģ Etching – (hard ground, soft ground, aquatint, sugarlift) The metal plate is covered with a protective ground, which is then drawn on with a variety of tools. The image areas in intaglio are depressed below the surface of the plate unlike relief processes (i.e. Intaglio printing – Printing from the crevices and grooves engraved or etched into a metal plate. Print is a medium explored by most contemporary artists from all disciplines. Beforehand books were a luxury only available to the very wealthy.įrom this point intaglio developed a rich history including Durer (16th Century German), Rembrandt (17th Century Holland) Piranesi (18th Century Italian), Hogarth, Gillray, Rowlandson and Blake (18th Century England), Goya (18th Century Spain) through to 20th Century artists Beckmann, Kollwitz, Picasso, Klee, Matisse and Kandinsky. It gave a predominantly illiterate population a means of communication through widely available images depicting saints and other religious themes as well as the production of books. It enabled craftsmen to keep a record of their designs and follow work in progress. With the arrival of paper in the 15th century intaglio printmaking was established as a specific art medium. Goldsmiths and armorers used intaglio principles during the Middle Ages. Intaglio – comes from Italian and means to engrave or cut into. Process A Brief History of the Intaglio Print |
